Canine Glioma Brain Tumor Chemotherapy (verdinexor) Trial

Background and Purpose of the Trial

Every year, about 3 out of 100 dogs are diagnosed with brain tumors. A common type of those belong to the glioma family of brain tumors – which are the toughest to treat due to their ability to escape traditional treatment methods that destroy non-glioma tumors.

This study is testing a chemotherapy drug that may be better at destroying glioma tumors than others – without the need for brain surgery.

Who Qualifies

  • Dogs who are over 10kg (22lb) in body weight who have already had a brain tumor diagnosed on MRI.
  • Dogs must be otherwise healthy with no other major diseases
  • Dogs cannot have previously received chemotherapy or radiation for this tumor.
