CVMBS Research Day
The Hollinshead Lab had an outstanding showing at the CSU College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences Research Day, held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the Translational Medicine Institute (TMI). Lab members presented posters showcasing our latest work on organoids and circadian biology, and enjoyed a fantastic day of scientific exchange with fellow postgraduate students and faculty.
We are especially thrilled to share that both of our presenters placed in the same research division, earning 1st and 2nd place awards in the Translational Research (Advanced Stage) category—a huge honor given the depth and competitiveness of the field.
Award Recipients
First Place:
- Ahmed Gad (Postdoctoral Fellow) Circadian regulation of endometrial receptivity in a sheep organoid model
Second Place:
- Brandi Dunn (PhD Student) Trusting Nature’s Blueprint: Polarity-Reversed Oviductal Organoids Advancing Cross-Species Fertility Solutions
Both Ahmed and Brandi fielded thoughtful, engaging questions and had a wonderful time connecting with the broader research community. We were absolutely delighted at the awards ceremony and could not be prouder of their achievements.
This was a truly fantastic day and a wonderful recognition of the exciting, collaborative work happening in the Hollinshead Lab.
